What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funny pages aloud to his young listeners, with Tinker Bell and Miss Honey as guests. Tinker Bell announces that a Walt Disney Peter Pan story will begin in the comic next week, and Bobby Driscoll, who plays Peter Pan in the film, makes a surprise visit. The program then reads a Beetle Bailey strip in which a soldier painting pipes on a roof gets stranded, and a Prince Valiant episode in which Val and his companions reach a village divided between the old druid religion and the new Christian faith. A Dick's Adventures episode follows, in which Dick dreams he is with Francis Scott Key during the bombardment of Fort McHenry. The Dagwood and Blondie strip, Robin Hood and Roy Rogers stories are also read aloud.

A radio program of comic strips read aloud, with stories set in a variety of places, including an army post, a medieval village, the War of 1812 at Baltimore, a traveling carnival, the Bumstead home, and Sherwood Forest.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
