What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies to a young listener four days before Christmas. He introduces Beetle Bailey, who gets stuck in a child's toy fire truck while shopping with his friend Killer Diller, and Prince Valiant, who drinks a sacred mead from a druid priest and sees strange visions in the sky. He also reads Robin Hood, where King Richard reveals himself to Robin's outlaws, Roy Rogers, who investigates a dungeon beneath an old mission, Flash Gordon, who is stranded on Venus with Queen Vicky, Dagwood and Blondie, Dick, who is held aboard a British ship, and Rusty Riley, who is hiding in a carnival truck.

A radio broadcast in December 1952 presenting comic strips, with stories set in a department store, medieval Britain, the American West, Venus, early nineteenth-century America and a rural highway.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
