What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies to two children, starting with news that the Starks have a new baby girl next door. He then reads several comic strips from Puck the Comic Weekly. In Hopalong Cassidy, Hoppy and his pals trail the fake doctor Wiley to a rock maze cave, where Wiley threatens them with a bottle of nitroglycerin. Prince Valiant sails home with his companions after the pirates retreat. Donald Duck is left with a house full of pets, Dagwood takes a night's shelter at the Woodleys' house, and Roy Rogers pursues outlaws who have stolen a box of gold. Flash Gordon faces Martian pirates in space, Dick is dreaming of the American Revolution, and Rusty Riley looks into the history of Queenie's horse. Each strip ends on a cliffhanger.
A house where the Comic Weekly Man reads comics aloud, with stories set in the Old West, Arthurian Britain, a farm and town, outer space, the American Revolution, and horse racing country.

Listen for: The Comic Weekly Man reads each strip aloud, with a short cliffhanger ending for most of them.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
