What happens

The Comic Weekly Man, a jolly radio host, reads comic strips aloud to a young listener named Little Miss Adi on a spring afternoon. He reads the Hopalong Cassidy strip first, in which Hoppy and California are trapped in a burning office safe after a villain named Vane sets the building on fire. He then reads Prince Val, where Val and his companions Rofus and Eagle leave the injured Arf behind in a mountain town and continue their journey toward Rome. Several other strips follow, including Donald Duck, Dagwood and Blondie, Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dick's Adventures and Rusty Riley, and each one ends on a cliffhanger. The Comic Weekly Man promises to return the following week with more.

A radio program hosted by the Comic Weekly Man, with comic strips read aloud over the air, including scenes in an oil field office, medieval-era Rome, a city park, a suburban home, a western cattle range, the moon, and Valley Forge during the American Revolution.

Listen for: The cliffhanger endings of each strip, especially Hoppy and California trapped in the burning safe and the logs rolling down toward Roy Rogers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
