What happens
The Comic Weekly Man, a friendly host on an old-time radio program, reads the funny pages aloud to a young listener, Miss Honey, on behalf of her friends Michael and Christopher. The episode moves through a series of comic strips: Hopalong Cassidy, where Hoppy and his pals track the outlaw Sloat, who has sought help from a crooked doctor in a town called Buckskin; Prince Valiant, where the hero rides to a convent to see his wounded young squire, Arf; Donald Duck, who tries to chase a fox; Dagwood and Blondie, where Dagwood asks his boss for a raise; Roy Rogers, who races after his horse Trigger Jr.; Flash Gordon, captured on the moon by the Beetle-men; and Dick's Adventures at West Point during the Revolution. Each strip ends on a cliffhanger.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
