What happens

Comic Weekly Man reads the Sunday funnies aloud to a young listener named Little Miss Lenny, who is delighted that school is over and summer vacation has begun. He reads the Hopalong Cassidy strip first, in which Hoppy and California follow tracks to a campfire and find their friend Buck Peters drugged, with his money and horse nearby. Three riders approach the camp, and the strip ends with the ghost raiders about to arrive. The program then moves through several other comic strips, each left at a cliffhanger.

A radio program in which a host reads the Sunday comic strips aloud to children, with Hopalong Cassidy's desert trail as the first strip.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Little Miss Lenny, Hoppy, California, Buck Peters

Listen for: Hopalong Cassidy's campfire scene, where Hoppy and California discover the drugged Buck Peters and his money.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
