What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads aloud from the comic pages of Puck, the Comic Weekly, a series broadcast in 1953 and dated June 7, 1953. He reads a Beetle Bailey strip in which the Army cook makes coffee from coleus plants by mistake, leaving a colonel and a captain unaware of the mix-up. Next is a Donald Duck story in which his nephews trick him into believing in flying saucers and a cardboard alien visitor. A Peter Pan segment follows, where Peter defeats Captain Hook on the ship's rigging. The Dick's Adventures story then has Dick and Sarah riding to Claremont when a steamboat frightens their horse, and the reading also covers Rusty Riley, Blondie and Dagwood, Roy Rogers and Flash Gordon.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
