What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck the Comic Weekly to his young listeners, opening with a riddle about something that goes up the chimney down but won't come down up. He then reads a run of comic strips: Snookums, whose father Archie breaks open his piggy bank after scolding the boy for destruction; Flash Gordon, who tunnels out of Zinn's jail and rescues Dale with help from Larga; Dick's Adventures, in which Paul Revere and Dick deliver guns to the colonists near Boston; Rusty Riley, where Rusty is knocked unconscious while trying to stop Taffy and Corky from stealing a horse; and Donald Duck fishing on a pier. The reading continues with Roy Rogers at the Flying Horn Ranch, Little Iodine, and Dagwood and Blondie.

A radio program in which the Comic Weekly Man reads comic strips aloud from Puck the Comic Weekly to children, with strips set in a suburban home, outer space, colonial Boston, a horse ranch, a fishing pier, and a cowboy ranch.

Listen for: The riddle about the chimney at the start, and the cliffhanger endings of the Flash Gordon, Dick's Adventures, and Rusty Riley strips.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
