What happens

Comic Weekly Man, a jolly radio host, reads the funnies aloud to his young listeners, moving from one comic strip to the next. Flash Gordon and his friend Zarkov pursue the villain Zinn, who controls zombie robots, while Dick's Adventures sends a young boy back in time to meet George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Rusty Riley learns he will travel to a New England coast with Mr. Miles, and Roy Rogers, tied to a runaway horse, is left in danger. Donald Duck, Dagwood and Blondie, Uncle Remus, and Prince Valiant follow, each ending on a cliffhanger, and the host promises to continue the readings next week.

Sunday comic weekly, read aloud in a radio program; the strips are set on a distant planet, colonial America, a ranch, a New England coast, a town and countryside, and a medieval castle.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Flash Gordon, Zarkov, Dale, Rubia, Zinn, Dick, George Washington

Listen for: The host's cheerful reading of the comic strips, with the comic panels described in order as he reads each one aloud.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
