What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the Puck comic strips aloud to his young listener. Hopalong Cassidy is held in a dungeon by Black John, who plans to ambush a telegraph crew at the old fort, while Hoppy and Rocky Ridges try to find a way out. Prince Valiant and his companions cross Hadrian's Wall, Flash Gordon struggles with dwindling oxygen on the space platform, and Dagwood tries to rescue a cat from the roof. Roy Rogers is captured by outlaws, Alice in Wonderland grows and shrinks in the underground room, and Dick dreams of George Washington's death. Rusty and Tex prepare a plan against the crooks at Grassy Acres.

A radio program in which a comic-reading host visits a child, with the strips set in the Old West, medieval Britain, outer space, suburban America, and a horse-racing farm.

Listen for: The cliffhangers across each strip, from Hoppy's dungeon to Rusty's plan against Mr. Crumb.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
