What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck to a young listener, Miss Holly, at the start of a new school year. Beetle Bailey, at an Army store, reaches for a dish he thinks holds chocolate syrup but is shoe polish, and two GIs end up swallowing it by mistake. Flash Gordon, held captive on Venus by King Stang, faces trouble after Dale tries to poison the king's table. In Peter Pan, Peter and Tinker Bell search the Darling nursery for his lost shadow. Dagwood, reading a mystery late at night, wakes Blondie and Herb Woodley for a cupcake recipe. Dick, dreaming of 1814 New Orleans, meets Jean Lafitte and finds a gold locket. Rusty Riley, now with the carnival, overhears two men plotting against Mr. Dooley. Donald Duck and his nephews go sledding. Roy Rogers helps Dofel Hawkins after a runaway wagon.

Puck the Comic Weekly, read aloud on the radio program Comic Weekly Man; the stories take place in an Army PX, on Venus, in the Darling nursery in London, in the Bumstead home, in 1814 New Orleans, at a carnival, on a snowy hill, and in the West.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
