What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funny pages aloud to a young listener, Little Miss Honey, who is eager to hear about Peter Pan. The first comic, Beetle Bailey, follows Beetle and his friend Killer Diller as Killer keeps chasing women and their plans to beat the heat at a club go wrong. Next, Peter Pan leads the children Wendy, John and Michael out of their nursery and through the window to Never Never Land, with Tinker Bell and the dog Nana watching. Uncle Remus then tells a tale of Brer Rabbit, whose serenade to Molly Cottontail backfires. The program also covers Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dagwood and Blondie, Dick's Adventures, Rusty Riley, and Donald Duck, each stopping at a cliffhanger for next week.

A radio program of the comic weekly funnies read aloud; the comic strips are set in London and Never Never Land, a rural old west mining town, the planet Venus, a Louisiana bayou, a carnival, and suburban homes.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Little Miss Honey, Beetle Bailey, Killer Diller, Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael

Listen for: The cliffhangers at the end of each strip, such as whether Rusty will discover who the crooks are and whether Dick will survive the pirates' banquet.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
