What happens
Comic Weekly Man reads aloud from Puck the Comic Weekly, opening with the Hopalong Cassidy strip. Hoppy, on the trail of a crook known as the Chameleon, is led to an Aztec temple, where he is shot at and knocked out a man. Hoppy finds a strange coin on the man and uses it to open a secret entrance into a giant room. Inside, he meets Simon Grief, a man who has been helping Buckskin catch the Chameleon. The strip ends with Hoppy facing guns pointed at him. Other strips follow, including Prince Valiant, Donald Duck, Dick's Adventures, Rusty Riley, Dagwood and Blondie, Roy Rogers, and Flash Gordon.
An Aztec temple and a Buckskin town in the Hopalong Cassidy strip; the Arthurian court and the lakes of Prince Valiant; a suburban home and dog pound in Dagwood and Blondie; a logging camp in Roy Rogers; and the Arctic ice and a Saturnian stronghold in Flash Gordon.
Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Hopalong Cassidy, Opie, Chiquita, Simon Grief, Prince Valiant, Alita, Donald Duck
Listen for: Simon Grief's answer when Hoppy recognizes him in the temple.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
