What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the comics from Puck to a children's audience. He opens with a fact about George Washington, who never shook hands during his presidency, and then reads serialized strips: Beetle Bailey, Prince Val, Peter Pan, Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dagwood and Blondie, Dick's Adventure and Rusty Riley. Each strip is brought up to a cliffhanger, with Prince Arn facing a huge stag, Peter banishing Tinker Bell, Roy racing a runaway wagon, and Necro sitting down to cards with Dually. The series is shown in its 1953 broadcast, dated 1953-02-22.

A radio broadcast reading the funnies from the comic supplement Puck, with strips set in a roller rink, a medieval castle and forest, Neverland, the Old West, Venus, a suburban home, and early nineteenth-century New Orleans, and a carnival midway.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Miss Honey, Beetle Bailey, Killer, Prince Val, Prince Arn, Peter Pan, Wendy

Listen for: The announcer's readings of each comic strip panel by panel, and the cliffhangers ending each strip.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
