What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck the Comic Weekly to his young listeners, opening with a chat with Little Miss Honey about Christmas and New Year's resolutions. He then reads Flash Gordon, in which Flash, Dale and Captain Goro are attacked by a huge monster on a strange planet, and later by flocks of three-headed vultures, while Flash fights alone outside the dragon's cave. Other strips follow, including Dick Tracy's dream of Washington's army in 1776, Rusty Riley and a black light mystery, and Donald Duck and his nephews' messy room. The program also previews the new Hopalong Cassidy comic and ends with the Comic Weekly Man promising to return next week.

A radio children's comic-strip program, with strips set on a strange planet, in 1776 New York, on a Texas-style ranch, in a suburban home, and in medieval castles.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Little Miss Honey, Flash Gordon, Dale, Captain Goro, Queen Sunny, Dick, George Washington

Listen for: The Comic Weekly Man introducing and reading each comic strip aloud, with the strips' sound effects and dialogue.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
