What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies to a listener named Honey on the children's program Comic Weekly Man, first aired January 20, 1952. He chats with her about feeding pigeons in the snow and then reads Hopalong Cassidy from Puck the Comic Weekly. Hoppy escapes from a sinking steamboat, and the outlaw Mieker flees into the woods after a shootout at Pike's Landing. Hoppy and the marshals pursue him through the brush. The episode also covers Prince Valiant's defense against Danish raiders, Uncle Remus's tale of Brer Rabbit tricking Brer Fox, Blondie and Dagwood's rainy day, Roy Rogers held captive by Judd Mieker's gang, Flash Gordon's flood rescue on Mars, Dick's adventures with Lewis and Clark, and Rusty Riley's pursuit of crooks.
A children's radio program in the early 1950s and the comic strip worlds it reads aloud, including the American frontier, Viking-age Britain, Mars, and an American town.

Listen for: The shootout at Pike's Landing and Hoppy's pursuit of Mieker into the woods.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
