What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck to a boy and a girl, then reads several comic strips aloud. Hopalong Cassidy follows the arms dealer Meeker onto a steamboat, is trapped in its cargo hold, and must escape as the boat sinks in the rapids. Prince Valiant fights a sea battle against the Danes, and Dick's adventures with Captain Lewis and Captain Clark bring them into conflict with Indians. Rusty Rally is framed for a theft of gold cups from the Miles farm, while Dagwood and Blondie, Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon and Uncle Remus stories also appear. Each strip stops on a cliffhanger, with the next installment left for the following week.

Comic strips and a radio-style program, with scenes ranging from a river steamboat and a medieval sea battle to the American frontier, a country club and farm, a suburban home, a Western ranch, Mars and a community store.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
