What happens
Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck the Comic Weekly to a radio audience, starting with a Hopalong Cassidy serial. Hoppy and his pals Lucky and California are jailed by the sheriff of Rio Vista on a kidnapping charge, and a lynch mob gathers outside the jail demanding that they be handed over. The sheriff refuses to give up the prisoners and helps them escape through the roof. The reading then moves on to comic strips featuring Prince Valiant, Donald Duck, Dagwood Bumstead, Roy Rogers, Flash Gordon, Dick Tracy's adventures with John Paul Jones and Rusty Riley. The broadcast is a light, episodic program aimed at children, and the presenter closes by promising to return the following week.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
