What happens

Claudia and David are newlyweds, just over two weeks married, settling into their first mornings together. Claudia's mother is also living with them, and the household's small frictions show up over breakfast, a stuck front-door lock and a plan to bake a cake for Aunt Louise, who is coming to dinner. Claudia is determined to prove she can bake, and David is supportive but skeptical about her skills. The Claudia radio series, based on the stories by Rose Franken, aired on September 30, 1947.

The apartment shared by Claudia and David Naughton and Claudia's mother, Mrs. Brown, in the morning and late afternoon of a single day.

Characters: Claudia, David, Mrs. Brown

Listen for: Claudia's first attempt at baking a cake for Aunt Louise's visit, and the comic bickering over breakfast and the sticky front-door lock.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
