George Burns and Gracie Allen are cleaning out the attic of their home when Gracie finds old keepsakes, including a yearbook that lists George as a debater who would become a lawyer. Convinced she steered him wrongly into show business, Gracie begins handing out his lawyer's business cards around the neighborhood. Her visits bring a series of unexpected callers, among them a woman seeking a divorce and two men with a legal problem. The episode is a 1943 broadcast of the Burns and Allen series, heard on CBS and NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc in the cast.

The Burns home, with scenes in the attic and library and at neighborhood doors.

Characters: George Burns, Gracie Allen, Bill Goodwin

Listen for: Gracie's attempts to sell George's legal services door to door, and the mix-up with the two men seeking a lawyer.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
