What happens
George and Gracie Burns plan a victory garden in their backyard, with Gracie's enthusiasm for farm life growing quickly. Her plans take in chickens, a cow, a rooster and a hired man. George tries to keep the project modest, while Gracie keeps adding ideas, and their neighbor Bill Goodwin is drawn into the scheme. The household confusion builds across the morning as the couple argue over how far their farming should go. Gracie is set on a farm life that George resists. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen radio series, first broadcast on March 30, 1943, on CBS and NBC Radio. Gracie Allen and George Burns lead the cast, with Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc also appearing.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
