What happens
George Burns runs into his old friend Lester Hamill on the street and invites him home for dinner with his wife, Gracie Allen. Lester has been working at MGM and asks George to keep quiet about his job there, but Gracie soon learns of it and begins pressing him to help a young girl named Tootsie get into pictures. Meanwhile, George's guest Bill Goodwin, who has his own history with MGM, joins the evening. The dinner grows increasingly chaotic, with Gracie fussing over preparations, Lester struggling to keep his secret, and the conversation drifting through talk of movie stars. The story is a Burns and Allen comedy from the CBS and NBC radio series, first broadcast November 3, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
