What happens

Gracie Allen and George Burns host a comic variety program in which Gracie, running for president, chats with George, Frank Parker, Ray Noble and the others. The talk wanders through a string of absurd anecdotes about relatives, a maid, a battleship in a pocket and a planned postal system based on stamps showing facial expressions. Gracie reads a rambling party platform, and a telephone call from Charlie Henderson, who has written her campaign song, interrupts the discussion. Frank Parker sings a short song, and the program is interspersed with sponsor messages for Heinz Honey and Almond Cream. The episode aired on March 27, 1940, and Gracie Allen and Bea Benaderet appear in its cast of characters.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
