What happens

George Burns and Gracie Allen comment on a newlywed couple who have just moved in next door, with George admiring his own physique while Gracie teases him about it. Gracie then gives young Virginia advice on handling her husband, starting with how to get money out of him for a new hat. The episode is from the Burns and Allen series, originally aired on May 23, 1946, with Gracie Allen and Bill Goodwin among the cast. Virginia is taught several lessons in managing a husband, including flattering him and keeping his ego inflated, while the comedy builds around Gracie's misguided tactics.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
