What happens

George Burns and Gracie Allen star in this 1943 episode of their radio series, first broadcast on January 26, 1943, on CBS and NBC. Gracie orders a family tree from a genealogy institute and learns that George is a descendant of an ancient Scottish king. Delighted, she begins treating George as royalty, handing out titles to the neighborhood tradespeople and giving orders around the house. George grows tired of the attention and the fuss, while Gracie continues to insist on his royal status and his kingly privileges.

Listen for: Gracie's delight at learning that George is a descendant of a Scottish king, and her increasingly elaborate royal treatment of him

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
