What happens

George and Gracie Burns hope to win a Texas oil well for themselves. Gracie's friend Judson has a sister, Judy, arriving from Texas to find a husband, and George and Gracie believe that matching her with the right man will earn them the well. Meanwhile George is alarmed at Gracie's spending, and they start lining up candidates, including Meredith Willson and Bill. Joe Bagley, a cigar store clerk, hears of the plan and is drawn into the competition, making a rival bid for the oil well. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen series, aired on May 6, 1948, with Gracie Allen, Bea Benaderet, Meredith Willson and Mel Blanc.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
