What happens
It is Christmas morning, and George Burns and Gracie Allen plan an open house for their friends. Gracie is ill and cannot attend the broadcast, so Jane Wyman stands in for her. George and Gracie invite Dr. Miller, Bill Goodwin, Mr. Judson the Texan and Meredith Willson to the gathering, and each guest arrives with his own comic habits. Gracie tries to set up a song for George, but her lead-ins keep going wrong. The episode is a Maxwell House Coffee Time broadcast, first aired on Christmas Day, 1947, on CBS and NBC Radio.

Characters: George Burns, Gracie Allen, Mr. Judson, Dr. Miller, Bill Goodwin, Meredith Willson, Bobby
Listen for: Gracie's cues to get George to sing, and the mix-ups that follow
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
