What happens
Jack Benny and George Burns are both frustrated that audiences will not take their real talents seriously: Benny wants to be known as a concert violinist, and Burns as a singer. Gracie Allen suggests the two disguise themselves as gypsies and give a concert, reasoning that the crowd may then judge them on the music alone. Benny is reluctant at first but warms to the scheme, and Gracie and Bill Goodwin begin preparing costumes and publicity. An oil millionaire from Texas is approached for money, and the two men start arguing over who should be the star of the show. The story is told in the Burns and Allen series, which aired on Thursday nights in 1948, with George Burns and Gracie Allen in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
