What happens
George and Gracie celebrate their fifteenth anniversary in radio, and congratulatory telegrams pour in from friends and fans. Among them is a bill-filled letter from the gas company that George finds, and he learns the household utilities have been shut off because Gracie has been neglecting the bills. Gracie tries to run the house like a business, hiring herself a secretary and buying office equipment, while George grows increasingly exasperated. Bill Goodwin and Meredith Willson drop by to add to the confusion. The Burns and Allen show features Gracie Allen and George Burns, with Bea Benaderet and Mel Blanc in supporting roles. The episode aired on February 27, 1947, on CBS and NBC Radio.

Characters: George Burns, Gracie Allen, Bill Goodwin, Meredith Willson, Mel Blanc, Bea Benaderet
Listen for: Gracie's literal-minded logic about household bills and her attempts to run the house like a business
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
