What happens

Gracie Allen meets her friend Rita Hayworth at a beauty shop, and Rita asks Gracie to stay with her at her house while her husband Orson Welles is away. Gracie persuades George Burns to come along, though he would rather stay home. At Rita's house the two women grow dissatisfied with their husbands, and Gracie decides to make George seem more like Orson. This is the Burns and Allen radio comedy, first broadcast on March 21, 1944, on CBS and NBC Radio.

A beauty shop, then the Burns home and Rita Hayworth's house, where Orson Welles is away on business

Characters: Gracie Allen, George Burns, Rita Hayworth, Orson Welles, Bill Goodwin

Listen for: Gracie's efforts to turn George into a genius like Orson Welles, and George's increasingly absurd imitations of him

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
