What happens

Gracie Allen learns that actor James Mason has moved in next door in Beverly Hills, and she is eager to meet him. Her husband George Burns is unimpressed, and Gracie decides the two couples need something in common. When Mrs. Mason asks whether the Burnses have seen a stray cat, Gracie claims George keeps a valuable collection of cats. To make the story convincing she sets out to produce some, and George soon finds himself caught up in the scheme. The episode is part of the Burns and Allen radio series, first broadcast on February 17, 1949, with Gracie Allen and Bea Benaderet in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
