What happens

George and Gracie host friends for Thanksgiving dinner at the Burns house while Gracie is preparing the turkey. The guests include Dr. Miller and the French singer Jean Sablon, whose records have the women swooning. Gracie comments that George has natural talent, and George is tempted to compete with Sablon's popularity. Gracie suggests inviting Sablon to dinner, which leads to a series of mix-ups over whether George is French, and the scene shows the household attempting to keep up appearances. The episode is from Burns and Allen, first broadcast on November 27, 1947, on CBS and NBC radio, with Gracie Allen and George Burns among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
