What happens

George and Gracie Burns leave a movie starring Charles Boyer and become smitten with the screen idol. Gracie is soon impressed by a bowling-club theatre director who casts her as leading lady in a cowboy play, and she hopes to recruit Boyer as the leading man. Boyer arrives at the Burns home believing Gracie is the daughter of an old friend, and George is in the wine business. The Burns family's household life and the play's plans are complicated by mistaken identities and misunderstandings. This is an episode of the radio comedy Burns and Allen, first broadcast on November 30, 1943, on CBS and NBC Radio, with Gracie Allen and Bea Benaderet in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
