What happens
Bob Burns substitutes for George Burns and Gracie Allen while they are on vacation, as the guest star of the Grape Nuts program. Joining him are Tony Martin and Ray Noble and his orchestra, with John Conney as announcer. Burns and the others banter over his introduction, and he trades jokes and tall tales about his family back home in Arkansas. Tony Martin sings a song, and Burns recounts a story about his Uncle Union at a society dinner party. A knock at the door brings in a visitor named Maisie Allen, who talks about two suitors and an egg-related joke, and a message arrives from George and Gracie praising the show. The episode is a light, comedic variety broadcast from 1937, first aired on CBS and NBC Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
