What happens

Detective Danny Clover arrives at the city morgue where a young woman named Lynn Halstead has been found dead in the river after three days. Her father identifies her body, revealing she came to New York three years ago from Akron and worked as a private secretary. Clover begins investigating Lynn's life, uncovering a secretive existence—she kept her workplace hidden from those close to her and gave only a phone number and mailbox address to the men she knew.

New York City, primarily Manhattan: the city morgue, Gramercy Park apartments, a coffee shop at 48th and 3rd Avenue, and the Equitable Building on Madison Avenue in the 40s.

Characters: Detective Danny Clover, Dr. Hoskin, Lynn Halstead's father, Mr. Clement (apartment manager), Gene Blake (coffee shop owner), John Martin (real estate office)

Listen for: A murder mystery unfolds as Clover interviews the people in Lynn's life and discovers she deliberately concealed details about her employment and movements, suggesting her death may be connected to secrets she kept hidden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
