What happens

Detective Danny Clover receives a confession from a man who witnessed what he believes was a murder on a rooftop in the East 30s—a man pushed off a building. The death had been ruled a suicide of John Elgin, but this eyewitness account suggests otherwise. Clover begins investigating, questioning Elgin's widow and tracking down a woman connected to the victim.

New York City, primarily in the East 30s neighborhood, police headquarters, and various locations connected to the investigation of John Elgin's death.

Characters: Detective Danny Clover, Mr. Greenhouse, Captain Colvin, Mrs. Elgin, Gino, Detective Margarmin, Gladys Haywood

Listen for: The vivid opening narration about April on Broadway and the city at twilight; the tension between the eyewitness and Detective Clover as the man confesses to witnessing the murder; Clover's pursuit of new leads despite the official suicide ruling.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
