What happens

Detective Danny Clover investigates the death of Nancy Lee Hunter, a reckless young woman who crashed her car into a building and died from poison. Three years earlier, Nancy Lee had made a drunken pact with three friends—Joey Pell, Herb Murray, and BB Barrett—taking out a life insurance policy with a double indemnity clause, with each friend contributing $15,000 and naming themselves as beneficiaries. Now that Nancy Lee is dead four days before the three-year mark, the detective must determine whether her death was accidental or murder.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
