What happens

Detective Danny Clover is called to the Marbury Apartments in Greenwich Village where he finds Hope Anderson dead in a courtyard fountain. The building manager, Viola Walker, discovered the body and reports that Hope roomed with Jackie Logan. Clover learns that Hope had two rivals for her affections—an older man and a younger man—but Jackie refuses to name them. When fingerprints on the murder weapon, a recently fired Luger, match those of Alan Harper, Clover goes to the home of Alan's mother to question him.

New York City, including the Marbury Apartments courtyard in Greenwich Village and the Warren residence.

Characters: Detective Danny Clover, Viola Walker, Jackie Logan, Alan Harper, Mrs. Vera Warren, Philip Warren, Taggler

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
