Detective Danny Clover finds a confused young woman named Linda Arnold wandering the streets with no memory of who she is. After taking her home to her apartment, Clover discovers her aunt Helen Carroll dead in the kitchen, stabbed with a letter opener that was found in Linda's purse. When Ted Raymond, Linda's boyfriend, learns of the death, he confesses to the murder and is arrested, but Clover suspects the truth may be more complicated.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
