What happens

On a June day in Times Square, wealthy stockbroker Earl Lawson is found stabbed to death in the crowd. Detective Clover investigates the case, questioning Lawson's brother who is a social worker and claims he was having brunch when the murder occurred. A photograph taken at Times Square captures the image of a man with a knife, identified as Ray Brewer, a man recently discharged from a county hospital for incurables where he was dying of a heart condition.
