What happens

Detective Danny Clover investigates the discovery of a car pulled from the East River containing the bodies of newlyweds Charles and Jane Kimball, who were shot multiple times. The couple, married just two days earlier and heading to Niagara Falls, were found with bullet holes in their chests, yet the car shows no sign of crashing through the bridge's guard rail despite being submerged thirty feet underwater.

New York City, primarily around the East River and the Miller family home, during the discovery and investigation of a murder case.

Characters: Danny Clover, Sergeant Tautaglia, Mrs. Miller, Ben Miller, Charles Kimball, Jane Kimball

Listen for: The atmospheric opening describing Broadway's neon landscape; the mystery of how a car entered the river without damaging the bridge; Danny Clover's questioning of the grieving parents about their daughter and son-in-law.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
