What happens

Dan Holiday receives a mysterious letter at Box 13 from a man named Arthur Holmes containing half of something important. When an odd visitor named Worker steals the letter from his office, Holiday travels to confront Holmes in person—only to find him murdered with a gun in Holiday's own hand. Framed for the killing, Holiday must evade the police and uncover the truth behind the murder, discovering that Worker is the real culprit with a sinister plan.

A city with apartment buildings, offices, police stations, and streets; the story moves between Holiday's Box 13 office, the Star Times newspaper office, the Rocks More Apartments in Bridgeport, a hamburger stand, a drugstore, and various city streets and alleys.

Characters: Dan Holiday, Susie, Thomas Worker, Arthur Holmes (Albert Henning), Charles Madison, Police Officer, Taxi Driver

Listen for: The clever radio play technique where Holiday narrates his own mistakes and observations as events unfold; the tense scene in the alleyway where Worker attempts to manipulate Madison into shooting Holiday; the revelation that Holmes was actually a spy named Albert Henning who had stolen photographs of Navy jet fighter plans.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
