What happens

Boston Blackie investigates the death of John Davis, who was stabbed in his home. Inspector Faraday had offered Davis police protection after escaped convict Barton threatened to kill both Davis and Ross for their testimony against him at trial, but Davis was murdered before protection could be arranged. Blackie must determine who killed Davis and why.
