What happens
Wealthy William Blaine receives threatening telephone calls and coerces Boston Blackie into becoming his bodyguard by threatening to send Blackie's friend Shorty to jail for an old forgery charge. Blaine locks himself in a sealed room with police protection for the night, but is mysteriously shot and killed despite the windows being locked and no gun found inside the room.
Boston; primarily the Blaine house and nearby locations including a restaurant and police station.
Characters: Boston Blackie, William Blaine, Shorty, Mary Wesley, Inspector Faraday, Martha Blaine, Robert Blaine, John Blaine
Listen for: The clever explanation of how a murder was committed in a locked room using a special trick glass device that slides open; Boston Blackie's deduction that the killer made the telephone threats using secret telephone company knowledge.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
