What happens
At the trial of Jim Williams, accused of murdering his wife, the chief witness John Bernard recants his testimony, claiming police beat him into falsely accusing Williams. Boston Blackie investigates the case and arranges a secret meeting with Hazel, a maid, who reveals that she believes Bernard himself killed Mrs. Williams—a woman who was obsessively pursuing him and threatening to leave her husband for him.
A courtroom, Boston police office, John Bernard's apartment at the Barclay House, and the lower deck of the Ben Island ferry.
Characters: Boston Blackie, Inspector Faraday, John Bernard, Jim Williams, Mary Wesley, Hazel, District Attorney
Listen for: The contradiction in Bernard's testimony about the murder and Hazel's revelation about Mrs. Williams's unrequited pursuit of Bernard.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
