Boston Blackie is stranded in Danville for six hours waiting for a train when a woman named Margaret Perkins asks for his help finding her missing brother Harry, who left a cryptic note mentioning the Metropolitan Flyer. When Blackie learns that an abandoned, wrecked car stopped the Metropolitan Flyer on the tracks the previous day, he investigates and discovers the vehicle was deliberately placed there and purchased just an hour before the train arrived.
Danville, a town with a railroad station and crossing where a train derailment or collision nearly occurs.
Characters: Boston Blackie, Margaret Perkins, Harry Perkins, Mary, Mr. Washburn, Mr. Boswell, train crew members
Listen for: Blackie's deductions about the deliberately wrecked car and what stopping the Metropolitan Flyer might mean for finding Harry Perkins.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
