What happens

Confidential investigator Barry Craig travels forty miles outside his usual New York City territory to the small village of Seneca, where town supervisor Samuel begs for his help solving the murder of Dr. Duck Tyler. The killing shows signs of a violent, deranged killer, and a mysterious iron eagle paperweight that Tyler kept on his desk has gone missing from the scene.

The small village of Seneca, New York, forty miles from New York City; Miss Pringle's boarding house and surrounding areas.

Characters: Barry Craig, Samuel (town supervisor), Sheriff Burke, Dr. Daventry (called Dr. O), Miss Pringle (landlady), Harmony (mysterious driver)

Listen for: The opening school motto setting the tone for the episode, and Barry Craig's initial reluctance to leave the city for a small-town murder case.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
