Fires of Tohr 22

Mungo, chief of the Torian warriors, has killed Major Bertonechely in a battle while Tarzan and his friends were attempting to escape from the subterranean passages of Tor. The ape man claims the ancient right of the yellow men and challenges Mungo to a combat to the death.

While awaiting the day set for the combat, Tarzan, Uruk, Darno and Uka, the giant yellow-skinned Ratorian spy, are set to the paddocks of the war elephants by Ataya, savage white queen of Tor. Tarzan befriends a huge savage bull elephant, who later carries d'Arno and do car out of the paddocks to the city wall over which they make their escape to the jungle beyond the

city. While Ataya and Wong Thai, the swab Chinese scientist, discuss the fate of Jeanette Burton, Rutang, Ataya's captain of the elephant men, brings word that two of his prisoners have vanished. Two of Rutan's prisoners gone?

Impossible. Rutan, enter. Come here. Speak, Rutan, in the tongue of the Anglo, so that one time I understand. Uh, then make black Baruch good, Elvald. Then white men go sleep. Pretty sure there is much noise.

But gain those two. You have thirsty paddocks Rutan, carefully? Rutan look all over. Take Tarzan no Rook along. No final. Those men were placed in your care, my little tank. If you do not find them, you will pay with your life.
