Suspense! Here again to introduce Columbia's program, suspense! Tonight are stars for Hollywood and this Virginia Bruce and Mr. John Loder. This Bruce appears as a beautiful and adventurous young lady who went in search of the bright face of danger and risked her life while finding it.

Mr. Loder's role is that of the smooth and charming gentleman who granted her employment in a perilous enterprise. The story called The Cross-eyed Bear by Dorothy B. Hughes is tonight's tale of suspense. If you've been with us before you will know that suspense is compounded of mystery and suspicion of dangerous adventure.

In this series are tales calculated to intrigue you, to stir your nerves, to offer you a precarious situation and then withhold the solution until the last possible moment. And so it is with the performances of Virginia Bruce as Lizanne Steffant and John Loder as Bill Volker.

We again hope to keep you in. Suspends the cross-eyed bear to subway train Mittam, New York. A tall blonde girl reading an item in her newspaper and reading it over and over. An advertisement, a personal advertisement.

Wanted a beautiful girl. No special training required, but must not be afraid to look upon the bright face of danger. For a wardrobe and liberal expenses, good salary. Applying her new room 1000 for Lorenzo Hotel, East 51st Street.

55 Street? 55 Street? I came to answer an ad. Oh, is this the place? Yes, so this is the place I should think. I am not quite, but just now you are the only one.

I see. I thought, listen, Miss, whatever your name is. Lizanne, Lizanne, stepheson, take my advice, Lizanne, before it's too... A lady, about that. Oh, someone to see me. This young lady came in answer to the end, Mr. Foker.
