The Lady Esther Screen Guild Players present Lumben Abner and Jimmy Gleason in our KO pictures. So this is Washington. It's late evening in Pine Ridge. Well it's about 8.30 and in Pine Ridge that's late.

The town is blanketed in darkness now. All except the feed room of the Jotam Down store where Abner Peabody is busily working with a number three junior mistle chemistry set. His partner Lum Edwards attracted to the light, stands in the doorway.

And they hold it all the way. What are you doing here this time of the night? Well, howdy long. What are you cooking there? Smells terrible. Oh, it's just some chemicals, huh? See, I've decided to become a great chemist.

Chemist? I thought I told you to quit monkeying around with that junk. Well, I'm just now getting good at it, huh? See, I'm inventing a lot of stuff here that we can sell in a jot'em down store.

If it smells as bad as that, young, nobody could get close enough to it to buy any of it. Well, it ain't all like that. See, I've had good luck with my new beautifying mud pack.

Mud pack? Yeah, you know what, Lum? I slapped a pack on my woman, Elizabeth's face a couple of days ago. You know, it's supposed to make her skin nice and smooth. Yeah, well, did it help her any?
